The Attorney General Needs Volunteer Mediators To Help Consumers

The Attorney General is recruiting new Volunteer Consumer

Complaint Mediators. Training begins Monday, September 25, 2006.

Volunteers will mediate consumer complaints over the phone and by

mail in the Attorney General’s Augusta Office. We will thoroughly

train you in consumer law and mediation techniques. You are asked to

volunteer approximately 6 hours a week on a schedule convenient to

you. This includes a weekly law class. If you are interested in joining

our September 25, 2006 class, call Assistant Attorney General James

McKenna (207-626-88420) or send an e-mail at

jim.mckenna@maine.gov.  Here is a brochure that more fully

describes our program and an application form. Thank you for

considering this opportunity.
