NextGen- Maine's 529 College Savings Plan

The Treasurer of State provides investment oversight and chairs the Investment Advisory Committee of NextGen, the State's Section 529 College Savings Program. NextGen was created by the Treasurer and the Finance Authority of Maine. FAME administers the program and Merrill Lynch is the program manager. The Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer meet with the Investment Advisory Committee, FAME, and Merrill Lynch quarterly. The Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, and FAME meet with Merrill Lynch more regularly to discuss program operational issues.
