Component Units

Entities that are closely related to the State, in agreement with the State Treasurer, may elect to place funds on deposit with the State, thus participating in the Treasurer's investment activities and earnings. These component units of the State are defined as entities that are legally separate from the State but are either accountable to the State or related so closely to the State that exclusion would cause the State's financial statements to be misleading or incomplete. Component Unit funds on deposit are provided same day liquidity by the Treasurer's Office in the event that a withdrawal is requested; however, the Treasurer's Office requests several days notice for larger withdrawals in order to schedule for efficient cash flows.
