Treasurer Lemoine Sworn in for 2nd Term

January 10, 2007

(Augusta)-State Treasurer David Lemoine was sworn in today for his second term as Maine’s 42nd State Treasurer. He joined constitutional officers Attorney General Steve Rowe and Secretary of State Matt Dunlap as they also took office for their two year terms. Auditor Neria Douglass, whose office is subject to a four year term, also was present for the swearing in ceremony.

Lemoine thanked the many friends and family who attended the ceremony, and recommitted to a policy and management approach that constantly asks: What are we doing? Why are we doing it? How can we do it better? “We have great folks working in the State Treasurer’s Office,” said Lemoine, “and they provide the State with an extraordinary level of professionalism and effectiveness. I look forward to working with them, with the Legislature, Governor Baldacci and other public finance interests over the next two years to continually improve our cash management, debt management and unclaimed property operations,” he added.
