On July 1, 2009, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) released a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the State Broadband Data and Development Grant Program. NTIA will provide competitive grants for projects that collect state-level broadband mapping data, develop state-level broadband maps, aid in the development and maintenance of a national map, and fund statewide initiatives directed at broadband planning. NTIA expects to make $240 million in ARRA funding available through this NOFA. A 20% non-federal match will be required. Applications will be accepted between July 14 – August 14, 2009.
