Monday, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services issued a State Medicaid Director Letter which provides guidance on the implementation of Section of 5004 of the ARRA which extends Transitional Medical Assistance (TMA) through Dec. 31, 2010. Section 5004 also provides states with options to modify TMA eligibility requirements and establishes new reporting requirements. The amendments made by this section take effect on July 1, 2009.
