Troop J Items of interest to Local Media: 10/12/09: Tpr. Cliff Peterson summonsed Roy Warren, 11-18-74, of Franklin for operating after suspension in Hancock. Tpr. Cliff Peterson and Sgt. Alden Bustard responded to a criminal mischief complaint in Franklin. The caller reported that a man from Franklin had kicked his door in and then left in a vehicle. The caller did not wish to pursue criminal mischief charges. The offender was contacted and he advised that he was upset over the relationship the caller was involved in with his estranged wife. The offender was warned not to have any further contact with the caller. Tpr. Staci Carpenter responded to a criminal threatening complaint at the Edmunds Elementary School. The caller reported that a twelve year old student had threatened to beat up another student. The complaint was unfounded and the incident was handled through the school. Tpr. Michael Southard assisted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with a serious personal injury accident on Route 9 in T31. Tpr. Christopher Smith investigated a road rage incident that resulted in two separate crashes in Otis and Ellsworth. As a result Joshua P. Mason, 09/04/93, of Waltham was summonsed for driving to endanger and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Nicholas Willey, 07/18/84, of Mariaville was summonsed for operating without a license. 10/13/09: Sgt. Jeff Ingemi assisted Washington County Sheriff’s Department with a domestic assault arrest in Jonesport. Tpr. Dan Ryan handled a fraud complaint in Blue Hill where a credit card account was opened in someone else’s name. Investigation continues. Tpr. Jason Fowler assisted the Calais Police Department with an underage drinking party. Tpr. Jason Fowler assisted the Calais Police Department with a ‘911’ hang-up call in Calais which was referred to the ambulance as a medical call. 10/14/09: Tpr. Dan Ryan responded to a burglary complaint in Sedgwick where about $1,000 worth of coins was reported stolen. Evidence was collected. Investigation continues. Tpr. Dan Ryan handled a criminal mischief complaint in Deer Isle where a business sign was damaged. Investigation continues. Tpr. Andy Foss handled a criminal mischief complaint in Pembroke were a gate and fence were damaged by a vehicle. Investigation continues. Tpr. Andy Foss arrested Libis Hernandez (12/20/87) in Whitneyville for domestic assault and domestic criminal mischief after it was reported that he assaulted Jasmyn Robicheau. Washington SO and Sgt. Jeff Ingemi assisted. Tpr. Jason Fowler responded to Princeton for a threatening complaint involving a firearm. It was found that Joel Betz (10/17/62) was reported to have shot at a woman while at a camp in Grand Lake Stream. Betz was arrested for domestic reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon. Sgt. Jeff Ingemi, Tpr. Tim McCadden, Tpr. Andy Foss, Washington SO and Indian Township PD assisted. Tpr. Jason Fowler assisted the Baileyville Police Department with a family fight. Tpr. Jason Fowler assisted the Baileyville Police Department with a report of a fight complaint. Tpr. Greg Burns received a complaint of a camp burglary from Charlotte. The caller reported that a deer mount which was estimated to be approximately a hundred years old and a six foot spear from an Indian Tribe had been taken from her camp. Investigation continues. Tpr. Greg Burns responded to a report of a vehicle off the road in Edmunds. The operator of the vehicle, Brad Preston, Jr. (03-10-87), of Perry was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs and was transported to the Washington County jail. 10/15/09: Tpr. Dan Ryan handled a theft complaint in Blue Hill where handbags were stolen from a vehicle. Investigation continues. Tpr. Dan Ryan handled a theft complaint in Brooksville where several street signs were reported stolen. Investigation continues. Tpr. Miles Carpenter arrested Paul Newcomb (03/10/51) in Columbia for operating under the influence of alcohol. Tpr. Miles Carpenter handled a criminal mischief complaint in Township 24 where a vehicle was vandalized during the night. Investigation continues. Tpr. Barry Curtis received a burglary complaint in Township 9. An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from a residence. Case remains under investigation. Sgt. Timothy Varney, Tpr. Barry Curtis, and Tpr. Christopher Smith assisted the Maine Warden Service with a search. A man was reported missing by his wife after he did not return from scouting for deer. Tpr. Smith located the man’s vehicle on a side road off of the Winkumpaugh Road in Ellsworth. Game Wardens located the man deceased under his ATV on a trail just into Dedham. Tpr. Kimberly Sawyer investigated a suspicious complaint in Alexander called in by a woman who reported that someone was walking around her camp property with a flashlight. Tpr. Sawyer located a man from Leeds who was a private investigator and he saw the for sale sign. The man decided to look at it while he was in this area. The Tpr. advised not to go back there since it was not the place he was investigating. 10/16/09: Tpr. Barry Curtis received a complaint of a pole which had been broken and wires were in the roadway, on Route 9. It was discovered that a tractor trailer had cut the pole off and continued on. An accident was caused from the wires being in the roadway. Tpr. Jason Fowler arrested Michelle Murphy (08/17/78) as a result of a traffic stop for 82 mph in a posted 50 mph zone on Route 191 in Marion Twp. Murphy was found to have a suspended license for failure to pay fine. She was transported to the Washington County Jail and summonsed for operating after suspension and criminal speed. Tpr. Christopher Smith summonsed Jennifer Atwood (08/25/79) of Ellsworth for operating after suspension. 10/17/09: Tpr. Tom Pickering received a theft complaint from a man in Deer Isle. The caller reported that two kayaks had been taken from outside his summer home this afternoon. A cream colored pickup had been seen leaving the area. The caller also reported that two additional kayaks had been taken some time within the last several weeks. Tpr. Greg Burns and Tpr. Staci Carpenter responded to a domestic dispute in Perry. Two brothers had been out drinking all evening and they got into an argument with their girlfriends when they returned home. Their residences are next to each other and they share the same driveway. Their girlfriends are also sisters. The investigation disclosed that no crimes had been committed and the parties were separated for the evening. Tpr. Greg Burns and Tpr. Staci Carpenter assisted the Washington SO with a domestic assault complaint in Lubec. Sgt. Tim Varney summonsed Michael Willis, 12-22-80 of Orland for operating after suspension after he was stopped on Rt 182 in Hancock. Tpr. Barry Curtis received a late report of an accident which had taken place in the town of Steuben. The operator was summonsed for a violation. Tpr. Barry Curtis received information regarding found property in the town of Blue Hill. Tpr. Kimberly Sawyer summonsed Allyson K. Parks, 9/12/79, of Calais for furnishing liquor to a minor. Tpr. Kimberly Sawyer is investigating a theft of stereos from two separate vehicles that were waiting for repairs in Baileyville. |
