Troop E Hightlights 9-07-2009 to 9-14-2009

Tr. White responded to Sangerville for a report from a female of a domestic assault in progress in which her son and boyfriend were in a fight in which the son had struck the boyfriend w/ a beer bottle in an attempt to get the boyfriend to let the son go. The boyfriend had a choke hold on the neck of the son and was forcing the son into a corner of the kitchen. The boyfriend had been drinking all day and was intoxicated at the time of this incident. Prior to law enforcement arriving, the boyfriend took a bottle of the complainants muscle relaxants. He was arrested, and transported first to Mayo Regional Hospital for the treatment of the injuries from the bottle strike, and the muscle relaxants, then to the Piscataquis County Jail.

Tr. Anderson responded to Hopkins Academy Grant on Hollesemic Lake for a report from a male that he had located an unopened parachute dated 1952 and what appears to be a human leg bone. The location is very remote and only accessible via 4 wheel drive vehicle. Tr. Anderson was taken in by a Game Warden. The M.E’s office was consulted and they advised to gather the remains and get them to the M.E.’s office. It turns out the bone was from a moose.

Troop E responded along w/Old Town and Orono P.D.’s to UMO for a report of a male subject that had stated that he was going to get a gun, go to campus and force his way into his ex-girlfriends dorm room and commit suicide. Information was then received that the subject stated that if he could not find the girlfriend, he would just start shooting people on campus. The subject’s cell phone was pinged and he appeared to hitting towers in Brewer and Bangor. At 1 point in time a UMO officer spoke to the male and he was very uncooperative and verbally abusive. The ex-girlfriend was taken somewhere safe away from her dorm room for the night. The male never made it to campus. This had been building up for 3 days prior to this response. The girlfriend had been working w/UMO P.D. and Brewer P.D. attempting to obtain and serve a protection from abuse order. UMO is primary on this investigation.

Tr.’s Fiske and Stedman responded to Millinocket and I-95 to assist Millinocket P.D. with the robbery of a Rite Aid Pharmacy. A male subject entered the pharmacy, passed a note demanding Oxycontin, and then fled on foot. Millinocket is primary on this investigation.

Tr. Meserve and Sgt. Hashey responded to Greenfield TWP for a report from a female that a 20 year old male had a gun to his head and was suicidal. Contact was made w/the male and he stated his girlfriend had cheated on him and broke up w/him. The male admitted to having a gun and wanting to hurt himself, but he had out the gun away. He was ultimately taken into custody and transported to EMMC for a mental health evaluation.

Tr. Anderson responded to Abbot for a report from a 7 months pregnant female that her boyfriend had assaulted her by punching her in the nose. In addition the boyfriends’ mother assaulted the complainant’s sister. The boyfriend was located, arrested, and transported to the Piscataquis County Jail.

Tr.s Yankowsky and Anderson responded to Orneville Twp for a report of a 2 vehicle personal injury crash in which a car crashed into a parked pick-up truck hooked to a boat. Several people were injured including 2 that were pinned between the boat and the truck. The most seriously injured were lifeflighted to EMMC. Investigation continues.
