Troop E Highlights 8-17-09 to 8-24-09

Tr.s Foxworthy and Bean along w/Sgt Millett responded to Garland for a report of shots fired at a residence. The call came from a neighbor who stated that he heard 5 shots, then 1 shot, during which time he could hear people arguing and someone saying “I’m going to kill you”. Upon their arrival troopers found 2 people at the residence, 1 male and 1 female, both intoxicated and uncooperative. Investigation revealed the names of 4 subjects that had fled into the woods prior to the troopers arrival. A.45 Glock handgun was recovered at the scene along w/.45 caliber shell casings.

Tr. Vittum responded to Corinth for a report of a deceased male. Investigation revealed the victim to be an 86 year old cancer patient. Investigation revealed no foul play.

Tr. Snow responded to I-95 SBL MM 182 in Bangor for a report of a broken down mobile home that was partially blocking the travel lane. Investigation revealed this mobile home was being towed from Brewer to Dixmont, was in very poor shape, and never should have been on the road. A very short ways into its trip, it blew a tire which started the breakdown. Between substandard equipment hauling, to mobile home and substandard wrecker equipment called to remove the mobile home, and the overall condition of the mobile home, it ended up being rolled into the ditch, where it was broken up and taken out in pieces as junk.

Tr. Snow responded to Plymouth to a Group Home for a report of staff workers restraining an out of control 12 year old female. The 12 year old became compliant when Tr. Snow arrived, stating that she was upset at the staff workers that would not let her play w/other kids, so she pushed the case worker.

Tr. Edwards responded to Kenduskeag for a report from an ambulance service that were they enroute to a residence due to a male making suicidal threats. Upon arrival the male was ordered out of the residence. He complied and was taken into custody, and transported to EMMC for a mental health evaluation. Investigation revealed him to have warrants for his arrest. He will be arrested once he is released from the hospital.

Tr. Anderson responded to Lincoln to assist Lincoln P.D. and CID III with the report of a suspicious death. A male subject was found on the ground in front of an idling tractor-trailer at a mini-mall in Lincoln. The male later died at the Penobscot Valley Hospital. The male had no ID on him. The male is believed to be the operator of the tractor-trailer. CID III is primary on this investigation.

Due to a citizen report of an erratic vehicle that entered I-95 northbound in Hermon, Tr. Vittum arrested the operator for OUI w/a B.A. of a .16, after stopping the vehicle as it exited the interstate at exit 184.

Tr.s White and Stedman responded to Elliotsville TWP for a report from a female of a domestic assault in which the female was grabbed by the throat and punched by her boyfriend of 3 ½ years after he accused her of cheating on him. The boyfriend was arrested and transported to Jail.
