Troop F Weekly Report 02-24 to 03-03-132/24/2013 02/25 - Tr. Whalen was involved in a 10-50 on Rt. 1 in Presque Isle. Tr. Whalen had been traveling south on Rt. 1 and attempted to reverse direction to go back towards Caribou. When making the turn, Tr. Whalen did not see a southbound car that was traveling behind him and in his blind spot, as Tr. Whalen made his turn he was struck in the driver’s side door by the car. Tr. Whalen was transported to TAMC with what was later diagnosed as a broken pelvis and later flown to EMMC. After spending a couple days at EMMC, Tr. Whalen returned home on the 28th to recuperate further. 02/28 – At 0945 HRS Tr. Deschaine investigated a vehicle pedestrian accident on the Bridgewater Corner Rd in Bridgewater. An intoxicated female was crossing the road when a vehicle came down the snow covered road around a curve and saw the female and started honking the horn. The female never looked up and continued to cross the roadway and was struck by the vehicle. The vehicle operator stopped to render aid and the woman was transported to TAMC with side injuries. The intoxicated female was summonsed for pedestrian crossing a public way without allowing a vehicle to have ample stopping time. When the female was interviewed she kept saying that the vehicle struck her and left the scene and never had its headlights on. 03/01 - Tr. Saucier completed the classroom portion of the DRE program and is now working towards getting his 12 field tests done to complete his DRE certification. 03/01 - Troopers Marquis, Flynn and Sgt. Haines responded to Stockholm for a report that several men got out of a vehicle near the church and started fighting then one left on foot. The vehicle remained in the area until Troopers arrived. One of the men had recently broken up with his girlfriend and his two friends were trying to get him to come home with them. No assault occurred and the three eventually left the area willingly after finding a cell phone they dropped during a brief struggle with each other. 03/02 - Tr. Flynn arrested a Mars Hill man on a warrant and charged his girlfriend with hindering apprehension after they both lied to Tr. Flynn the night before on a traffic related matter. 03/03 - Tr. Flynn and Sgt. Haines investigated an unattended death in Littleton. The fifty year old woman had multiple medical conditions and continued to smoke while on oxygen. The death appeared to be of natural causes and the case was referred to the Medical Examiner’s Office. |
