Troop F Weekly Report 02-28 to 02-03-13

01/28 - Tr. Cyr responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in Frenchville that had struck a concrete safety barrier. Tr. Cyr was able to locate the vehicle owner and discovered that the accident happened during the night after the operator failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the barrier. The operator then left the scene and said he figured he would report it later. Operator was summonsed for leaving the scene of an accident and failing to stop at the stop sign.

01/28 - Tr. Cyr responded to Frenchville for a report of a burglary in progress. Homeowner awoke to noises and heard people inside her house. The individuals were scared off by the homeowner before anything was taken. Investigation is continuing.

01/30 – An unexpected storm hit ‘The County’ and Troopers were busy handling crashes and stranded vehicles. Schools remained in session and several buses were stranded along their routes. Tr. Flynn responded to a crash in Mars Hill where a motorist lost control and struck a gas pump at a local convenience store. The pump was knocked off its base, but all of the emergency shut-offs functioned properly and no gas loss or other issues occurred. The store was unable to sell fuel for the rest of the day. Mars Hill Fire Dept. assisted at the scene.

01/31 - Recruit Levesque and Tr. Quint responded to a report of two males fighting in Monticello. Investigation revealed an intoxicated male wouldn’t leave the house when told and got into a fight with homeowner. Male then left but had returned when Recruit Levesque and Tr. Quint arrived. Male was charged with criminal trespass and VCR.

01/31 – Tr. Jared Sylvia and Recruit Jacob Ferland responded to a family fight in Linneus based on a report from a Waterville man that his ex-girlfriend was being assaulted by her current boyfriend. Female told Troopers she made the allegations up to get her ex-boyfriend to feel bad for her and take her back. There were no signs of an assault and both the female and current boyfriend denied any type of physical altercation.

01/31 – Tr. Marquis responded to a family fight in Wallagrass. The female victim initially told her counselor she was being held against her will by her boyfriend and also said he threatened to kill her. However, when interviewed by Tr. Marquis, the female denied both previous allegations occurred. She wanted her counselor to help find her some assisted living services and she was taken there by Tr. Marquis.

02/02 - Tr. Monahan was in Houlton and saw a car stopped in a parking lot and it appeared a male and female were in a verbal altercation. Tr. Monahan stopped to check on the situation and discovered that the 17 yr. old male had been drinking. The male submitted to a PBT test which confirmed that he had a measureable amount of alcohol in his system. Tr. Monahan interviewed the male and he made incriminating statements as to a residence he had been at and drinking alcohol. Tr. Monahan summonsed the male for possession by consumption and followed up on the investigation, resulting in charges of providing a place for minors to consume on 19 yr. old male from Hammond.
