Weekly Highlights-Media Version
This week Troop J responded to 158 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Trooper Kim Sawyer summonsed Amy L. McArthur (35) of Princeton for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and no insurance after receiving information that another party had cancelled the registration and insurance.
Trooper Bryan Creamer and Trooper Greg Roy investigated a theft complaint in Blue Hill. The complainant reported that she was going through a divorce and her residence was going into foreclosure. Also reported was the bank had sent two male subjects to the residence to determine if it was still occupied. There was signs of forced entry into the residence and a number of items had been taken. The investigation determined that Clarence Merchant (37) of Hampden, had gone to the residence at the request of the bank to check on it. Merchant had forced open the door and removed a number of items from inside. Merchant was summonsed for Theft by Unlawful Taking or Transfer.
Trooper Bryan Creamer and Trooper Greg Roy responded to Maine Maritime Academy in Castine to assist security with a student who was in their office and was believed to have been operating under the influence. It was determined that the student was not under the influence and no further action was taken.
Trooper Jason Fowler and Sergeant Alden Bustard responded to a domestic dispute complaint in Brookton. The complaint was determined to be unfounded and the parties were separated for the night.
Trooper Chris Smith summonsed Krystal Curtis (23) from Addison for operating after suspension as the result of a traffic stop in Gouldsboro.
Trooper Chris Smith arrested Kenneth Chandler (23) from Jonesport for operating after revocation as the result of a traffic stop on Route 9 in Aurora. Kenneth was also on probation and in violation of his conditions as well.
Trooper Keith York investigated a report of criminal mischief to the ball field at the Cherryfield Elementary School. Someone had driven onto the field and spun it up. Investigation continues.
Trooper Chris Smith investigated a telephone harassment incident in Hancock. Trooper Smith left a warning on the voice mail for the unwanted phone calls to stop. The caller was never identified and the unwanted calls have stopped.
Trooper Jason Fowler summonsed Andrew Curtis (20) of Calais for Operating Without a Driver’s License as the result of a traffic stop in Baileyville.
Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a violation of protection order complaint in Surry. Investigation continues.
Trooper Michael Southard responded to a crash in Milbridge where Matthew Pinkham (19) was arrested for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and operating without a license. He was also summonsed for operating after suspension.
Trooper Chad Lindsey responded to a family fight complaint in Baring where it was reported that the person was off medications and out of control. Upon arrival everything was found to be okay and no crimes were found to be committed.
Trooper Chris Smith conducted a bail check at the request of the Hancock County drug court on Matthew Hardison (31) in Eastrbook. As a result Matthew was found to be in violation of his conditions of release and he was subsequently arrested for the violation.
