Weekly Highlights-Media Version9/24/2012 This week Troop J responded to 152 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints: 9-19-12 Trooper Staci Carpenter investigated a burglary complaint in Charlotte. It was reported that approximately two hundred dollars and an antique bottle had been taken. The investigation continues. Trooper Reid Bond responded in Harrington to assist Pleasant River Ambulance Service. The injured person reported that he fell 10-15 feet from a tree while attempting to trim branches. The man then later reported that he was actually assaulted. Investigation continues on this case. Trooper Kim Sawyer received a harassment complaint in Big Lake Township. Notices were served. Trooper Kim Sawyer responded to a Burglary complaint in Robbinston, that someone had cut the padlocks off of the business and the garage to the residence. Stolen were boxes of chocolates and a homemade bracelet. 9-20-12 Trooper Cliff Peterson received a well-being check from the emergency room at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. It was reported that the person had left the hospital against the doctor’s advice. They were located and returned to the hospital voluntarily. Trooper Greg Roy and Trooper Cliff Peterson responded to a dispute at a residence in Penobscot. Claude Arsenault (54) of Penobscot, was refusing to leave the residence. Arsenault was intoxicated and had barricaded himself in a bedroom. Arsenault was taken into custody without incident and charged with Criminal Trespassing. Trooper Cliff Peterson received a telephone harassment complaint in Lamoine. The woman reported that her ex-boyfriend had been calling her repeatedly and harassing her. The man was warned for telephone harassment. Sergeant Varney summonsed Michelle Chaloult (43), of Eastbrook, for OAS on Route 200 in Waltham. 9-21-12 Trooper Miles Carpenter handled a burglary complaint in Cherryfield where a gaming system and a firearm were reported stolen. Investigation continues. Trooper Chad Lindsey responded to a burglary complaint in Cutler where prescription medications were reported stolen. Investigation continues. Trooper Michael Southard responded to a protection order violation in Eastbrook where Jonathan Wells (65) was arrested. Trooper Michael Southard handled a harassment complaint in Hancock. The person was advised how to handle things better in the future. Trooper Staci Carpenter received a criminal mischief complaint in East Machias. It was reported that for the seventh month in a row someone put sheetrock screws at the end of the person’s driveway. Trooper Cliff Peterson received a theft complaint from in Trenton. The person reported that around a month ago she discovered that approximately sixty-five dollars, two gold wedding rings and a silver ring had been taken from her residence. She recently discovered that her son’s money jar had been taken. The investigation continues. 9-22-12 Trooper Keith York arrested Matthew Cotton (18) in Cherryfield for operating under the influence of alcohol, operating after suspension, operating without a license, possession of a usable amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal transportation of liquor by a minor. Trooper Andrew Foss assisted. Trooper Cliff Peterson summonsed Aaron Pert (31), of Ellsworth, for Burglary as the result of an ongoing investigation from 09-11-12. 9-23-12 Trooper Michael Southard responded to a crash in Franklin where Bruce Merchant (45) was transported to the hospital in Ellsworth. A blood test was taken and Merchant was summonsed for operating under the influence of alcohol and violation of bail. Trooper Kim Sawyer responded to Baring for a complaint that she heard noises outside her home and went to the door, turned on the light and saw a man with a baseball cap duck down. Trooper Kim Sawyer was unable to locate anyone. |
