Weekly Highlights-Media Version9/4/2012 This week Troop J responded to 213 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints: 8-27-12 Trooper Bryan Creamer summonsed Ralph Fowler (41) of Franklin for Operating After Suspension on Route 200 in Sullivan. 8-28-12 Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a harassment complaint in Stonington. Trooper Daniel Ryan arrested Christopher Obert (29) in Stonington for having an active warrant for his arrest. Trooper Keith York handled a theft complaint in Milbridge where a shopping cart was reported stolen. Investigation continues. Trooper Andrew Foss assisted. Trooper Staci Carpenter responded to a domestic dispute in East Machias. The person was located and warned not to return to the residence. 8-29-12 Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a trespassing complaint in Blue Hill where warnings were given. Trooper Chad Lindsey handled a burglary complaint in Machias. Investigation continues. Trooper Chad Lindsey arrested Shawn Smith (19) in Wesley for having an active warrant for his arrest. Smith was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation. Smith was also summonsed for possession of alcohol by a minor. Trooper Jason Fowler received a theft complaint in Princeton. It was reported that a mailbox and post had been taken. Trooper Jason Fowler summonsed the Circle K in Princeton for Selling Liquor to a Visibly Intoxicated Person. Trooper Staci Carpenter investigated a burglary complaint in East Machias. It was reported that someone had entered through a rear window and had taken household items. The items were located. They did not wish to pursue charges. No further action was taken. Trooper Staci Carpenter investigated an assault complaint in Machias. The person didn’t want to pursue charges and warnings were given. 8-30-12 Trooper Chad Lindsey handled a camp burglary complaint in Marion. Investigation continues. Trooper Reid Bond handled a theft complaint in Jonesport. Trooper Bryan Creamer investigated a complaint in Otis, by the Orono RCC of misuse of 911 after receiving a 911 call for the sixth time from the same residence in the previous two weeks. Through the investigation it was determined that the person had a phone that could only be used in the case of an emergency and the daughter had figured out how to use it. Warnings were given for misuse of 911. Trooper Bryan Creamer investigated a report of a person looking in windows in Hancock. It was reported that for the past couple weeks someone has been looking in the windows at different times of the day and night. Investigation continues. 8-31-12 Trooper Chad Lindsey handled a trespassing complaint in Charlotte some buildings at a campground had been entered. Investigation continues. Trooper Reid Bond responded to a Burglary complaint in Beddington. It was reported that someone had gained entry into the seasonal residence. Items stolen from the residence included alcohol, a keg tap, propane cooker, and a large amount of returnable cans. It was also determined that several pieces of copper had been cut from the plumbing system in the basement. Investigation continues regarding this case. Trooper Greg Roy summonsed Jon McDowell (26), of Stonington, for Operating Without a Driver’s License as the result of a traffic stop in Deer Isle. Trooper Greg Roy arrested Kate McNamara (31), of Massachusetts, for OUI as the result of a traffic stop in Deer Isle. 9-1-12 Sergeant Tim Varney summonsed Gregory Carter (57), of Franklin, for Operating an Unregistered Motorcycle on Route 200 in Franklin. The registration expired in 2008. Trooper Barnard responded to a criminal mischief complaint in Dedham. Trooper Jason Fowler investigated a burglary complaint in Princeton. It was reported that a cabin had been broken into. Entry had been made through a screen window. The investigation continues. Sergeant Alden Bustard arrested Frank Miller (52), of Birch Harbor, for OUI as the result of a traffic stop in Sullivan. Miller was transported to the Hancock County jail. Sergeant Alden Bustard received a complaint of a possible violation of bail conditions in Eastbrook. Investigation continues. Sergeant Alden Bustard received a theft complaint in Franklin. It was reported that the person had tied their white German Shephard to its run outside and believed someone had unhooked its leash and stole it. The dog later returned and it was determined that the dog had broken its collar. Trooper Greg Roy responded to a single vehicle accident in Orland. The owner of the vehicle, Thomas Phelan (54) of Bucksport, initially reported that his vehicle had been stolen and someone had crashed it. Phelan eventually admitted to driving the vehicle. Phelan was summonsed for Operating Without a Driver’s License and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident. 9-2-12 Trooper Staci Carpenter arrested Brandon Brown (24), of Florida, for OUI as the result of a traffic stop in Machias. Brown was transported to the Washington County jail. Trooper Staci Carpenter investigated an assault complaint in Pembroke. The person could not identify the assailant. They suffered serious facial injuries as a result of the assault and was transported to EMMC in Bangor to be treated. The investigation continues. |
