Weekly Highlights-Media Version8/27/2012 This week Troop J responded to 197 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints: 8-20-12 Trooper Reid Bond responded to a call in Cherryfield for a fight. The confrontation was found to be verbal only in nature but Ashley Hall (27) was arrested on an active warrant out of Washington County. Trooper Bond was assisted by Trooper Bryan Creamer and Trooper Christopher Smith. Trooper Reid Bond responded to the Coast Guard Base in Jonesport after Michael Wenrich (49) attempted to come onto the base stating he had a concealed weapon. Wenrich who goes by an alias of Michael Jadu, stated that he wanted to speak to the Commander & Chief and that his “Patriot” status enabled him to carry a concealed firearm. Also in Wenrich’s possession was a small vile of what he stated was crushed Ritalin, and a bundle of ammunition claimed to be armor piercing. While in the presence of Coast Guard Officers, Wenrich made threatening statements. Wenrich was arrested and charged with criminal threatening, possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of armor piercing ammunition, and possession of a schedule W drug. At this time the federal government is pursuing charges in regards to this incident. Trooper Cliff Peterson and Sergeant Alden Bustard responded to a residence in Sullivan to assist the ambulance service with a report of a male subject who was having chest pains. While at the residence, an EMT described two male subjects inside who was believed to be Thomas and Timothy Joy (38) who are identical twins and were believed to be living at the residence. The Joy brothers had multiple arrest warrants on various charges and Thomas Joy had an extraditable warrant out of Florida. Trooper Peterson obtained a search warrant for the residence and both Timothy and Thomas were located inside the residence and were taken into custody. Thomas was hiding under a bed and others inside the residence had make a make shift wall around the bottom of the bed to conceal him. Trooper Barry Meserve, Hancock County Deputy Larry Fickett and Sergeant Jim Malloy of Gouldsboro Police Department also assisted at the scene. 8-22-12 Trooper Jason Fowler investigated a burglary in Princeton. It was reported the chain on the rear door had been ripped off a couple weeks ago. The person recently realized various items were missing. The investigation continues. Trooper Jason Fowler investigated a liquor law violation in the town of Princeton. Trooper Fowler was assisted by Trooper Keith York, and the Indian Township Police Department. The investigation continues. 8-23-12 Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi and Trooper Chad Lindsey arrested Michael Wenrich, aka Michael Jadu, (48) in Jonesboro on a federal arrest warrant. Trooper Chad Lindsey responded to an assault complaint in East Machias where Donna Dray (44) was arrested for violation of conditional release and summonsed for assault. Trooper Andrew Foss and Trooper Keith York assisted. Trooper Chad Lindsey handled a trespassing complaint in Perry where warnings were given. Trooper Michael Southard handled a criminal mischief complaint in Sullivan where a seasonal residence was damaged. Investigation continues. 8-24-12 Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a theft of a trailer complaint in Stonington. This was found to be at a local garage where it had been towed. The theft was unfounded where the trailer was parked improperly. Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a theft complaint in Stonington where a mailbox was stolen during the night. Investigation continues. Trooper Chad Lindsey summonsed Josey Cary (29) in Machias for operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Trooper Michael Southard handled an assault complaint in Hancock. The party refused to cooperate and no further action was taken. Trooper Reid Bond responded to the report of a Burglary in Deblois. It was reported that several cases of beer and other alcoholic beverages were stolen. The pictures from the game cameras were used to identify a suspect of Christopher Lane (25). Lane was interviewed and confessed to forcibly entering the camp, and taking the alcohol as well as several flashlights. Lane was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal mischief, and theft. 8-25-12 Trooper Chad Lindsey handled a shoplifting complaint in Whiting. This was found to be unfounded. Trooper Andy Foss arrested Joshua Michaud (30) in Jonesport for Operating after suspension, and Violation of Conditional Release in Jonesport. Trooper Reid Bond responded to Columbia Falls for the report of a fight. After investigating the complaint, the confrontation was found to be verbal only in nature. Trooper Bond was assisted by Officers from Milbridge Police Department and Indian Township Police Department. Trooper Bryan Creamer investigated a report of a vehicle driving on the ball fields at the Sumner High School. As a result of the investigation Christopher Youngblood (19) of Franklin was summonsed for Criminal Mischief. Trooper Chris Smith assisted with the investigation. Trooper Bryan Creamer investigated a crash a person driving an Indian motorcycle hit a deer on Route 182 in Hancock. Charges are pending. Sergeant Tim Varney, Trooper David Barnard, and Trooper Chris Smith assisted in the investigation. Trooper Bryan Creamer investigated a report of a fight in Sullivan. Everyone refused to pursue charges. Sergeant Tim Varney, Trooper David Barnard, Trooper Chris Smith, and Gouldsboro Police Department Sergeant James Malloy assisted in the investigation. Trooper Barnard responded to a harassment complaint in Surry. It was reported the person was receiving harassing calls from someone about a missing phone. The caller thinks the phone was taken off the beach in Surry. The phone numbers that were given have a message stating the phones are no longer in service. Trooper Barnard responded in Orland for a harassment complaint. This is still under investigation. 8-26-12 Trooper Barnard and Trooper Smith responded to an assault complaint in Orland. The complainant stated they were at a large party somewhere in Orland and was assaulted and money was missing money from their wallet. The complainant did not know who assaulted them and this is still under investigation. |
