Major Crimes Unit South Weekly Highlights 8/6/20128/6/2012 Detective Harakles followed up on a lead involving the AYLA REYNOLDS case. Detective Harakles interviewed a female subject who believed she saw AYLA REYNOLDS with a family at Barker’s Pond in Lyman. The female subject took photos of the child and the adults present. The female subject also took photos of the license plate of the vehicle the family was driving. Detective Harakles was able to prove that the child was actually a small boy. Detective Harakles presented the Evelyn Moore case to the Maine Elder Death and Analysis Review Team. Detective Pike continued to investigate the Roger White homicide in Old Orchard Beach. Detective Pike assisted Gorham PD with a case involving a missing male subject. Detective Edstrom conducted a follow-up investigation on the JOHN SWAN cold case homicide. Detective Edstrom reviewed the FRANCES MOULTON homicide, which occurred in Lebanon in 2006. Detective Chavez, Detective Leighton and Sergeant Holmquist responded to Norway for the death of a six week old infant. The autopsy revealed no signs of physical trauma. The toxicology results are pending. Detective Chavez assisted Westbrook PD with an alleged physical abuse/neglect case that occurred in Stoneham. Detective Chavez instructed Advanced Criminal Investigations to a Judicial Marshal class at MCJA. Detective Hainey attended the Murder arraignment of TAREEK HENDRICKS who was recently extradited from the State of New York. Detectives Keaten, James, Leighton and Sergeant Holmquist attended a meeting at the Medical Examiner’s office regarding the Mexico Death Investigation. Detective Keaten received a DHHS referral in the Town of Leeds. A six week old infant was dropped by her babysitter causing a skull fracture. Interviews were conducted with the parents of the child and the babysitter, which revealed no neglect or malice. Doctors believe the child’s injuries will not cause permanent damage. Detective Keaten continued to investigate the Mexico shooting case. Polygraph Weekly: Detective James attended a meeting at the Medical Examiner’s office regarding the Mexico shooting. The medical examiner requested to see photos from the scene and to review the laser trajectory analysis conducted by ERT. Det. King conducted a pre-employment examination for Milo Police Dept. and worked on reports for the remainder of the week. Sup. Ferland conducted a case consultation and statement analysis for Det. Elmer Farren regarding a child abuse investigation. He and Bangor Polygraph Examiner Tim Cotton reviewed two new examiner’s work for polygraph licensing; administered the polygraph licensing exam, and forwarded said documents to the Commissioner’s Office. |
