This week Troop J responded to 204 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:

7-22-12

Trooper Kim Sawyer summonsed Andrea S. Stevens (33) of Indian Township for an assault that occurred on 7/20/12 in the parking lot of the Princeton Circle K.

Trooper Kim Sawyer responded to an unresponsive person that was left in a driveway in Robbinston. Upon arrival the person was responsive and taken to the Calais Regional Hospital by the Calais Ambulance. After investigation it was found that they had fallen.

7-26-12

Trooper Kim Sawyer responded to a roll-over accident on Route 191, Baring. An off duty officer was on scene and reported that the driver was intoxicated. Trooper Kim Sawyer arrived on scene and the driver Rosemary G. Cline (45) of Lubec was taken to Calais Regional Hospital. After investigation and after Rosemary was released she was arrested for OUI. Trooper Reid Bond assisted at the scene.

7-28-12

Trooper Kim Sawyer assisted Officer Benevenuto of Connecticut for a missing and endangered person from Connecticut that may have been in Alexander. Trooper Kim Sawyer went to the residence and the resident stated that they didn’t know them and stated that they were not at there. Later Baileyville Police Department located the person.

Trooper Kim Sawyer participated in Danforth Days by participating in the Parade and providing police presence.

Trooper Chris Smith responded to a reported assault. The complainant was not injured and refused to cooperate with Trooper Smith’s investigation. No further action taken.

7-30-12

Trooper Andrew Foss handled a gas drive-off complaint in Whiting. Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi located the vehicles involved which had inadvertently left without paying and took care of the payment via telephone.

Trooper Cliff Peterson responded to a property damage accident in Sedgwick. The operator of one of the vehicles involved, Ronald Lyons (26) of Surry, was summonsed for Operating After Suspension.

7-31-12

Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a theft complaint in Deer Isle where copper wire was stolen. Investigation continues.

8-1-12

Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi handled a criminal mischief complaint in Lubec where a mailbox was damaged for the second time. Four local juveniles admitted to the damage, dug a new hole for the new mailbox they bought, paid for the last time they pulled it out of the ground and are going to church for a couple weeks with the victim at their request.

Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a gas drive-off complaint in Sedgwick. A suspect vehicle is known. Investigation continues.

Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a criminal mischief complaint in Deer Isle where a door was damaged on a business. Investigation continues.

Trooper Andrew Foss handled a burglary complaint in Beddington where forced entry was made on a seasonal residence and furniture was reported stolen. Investigation continues.

Sergeant Timothy Varney and Trooper Chris Smith responded to an assault in Dedham. When Dedham Fire and Rescue arrived the person fled the camp on foot. Sergeant Varney, Trooper Smith, Dedham Fire, and Brewer Ambulance Service searched the area and eventually located the intoxicated and uncooperative person. Trooper Smith took the person into protective custody and transported them to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital where they were treated for their injuries. Investigation continues.

Trooper Staci Carpenter received a threatening complaint in East Machias. The investigation continues.

8-3-12

Trooper Reid Bond handled a 911 misdial in Addison. Dispatch called the residence back and who stated that her daughter called 911 by mistake. Trooper Bond made contact with the parent. After investigating the complaint the incident was found to be verbal only in nature.

Trooper Kim Sawyer summonsed John P. Gathercole (58) for operating without a license as the result of a traffic stop on Route 1 in Robbinston.

Trooper Chris Smith is investigating several overnight incidents of mailbox vandalism along Route 179 in the towns of Fletcher’s Landing through to Waltham. Ellsworth Police Department is also investigating several mail box vandalism incidents that occurred overnight as well. Investigation continues.

Trooper Greg Roy arrested Carlos Garcia (24) of Deer Isle for operating under the influence of drugs as the result of a traffic stop in Deer Isle. Garcia was also charged with Improper Attachment of Registration Plates, Unlawful Possession of Schedule W Drugs and Possession of a Useable Amount of Marijuana.

Trooper Cliff Peterson conducted a wellbeing check in Orland.

Trooper Cliff Peterson arrested Steven Moon (20) of Surry for OUI as the result of a traffic stop in Brooksville. Moon was transported to the Hancock County jail. Moon was also charged with Operating After Suspension.

Trooper Greg Roy investigated a theft complaint in Surry. The complainant reported that they had heard a vehicle outside the residence and went outside, they found the interior light in the vehicle was on. Items had been taken from the vehicle. The investigation continues.

Troopers Keith York and Trooper Bryan Creamer graduated from the Maine State Police RTT and will be joining Troop J.

Trooper Greg Roy summonsed Mandi Parker (35) for OAS in Franklin.

Trooper Mike Southard arrested Erica Wallace (38) in Harrington for OUI.

Trooper Staci Carpenter responded to a threatening complaint in Perry. The parties were separated for the night.

Trooper Greg Roy investigated a burglary complaint in Columbia. The investigation continues.

Trooper Greg Roy summonsed Mandi Parker (34) of Cherryfield for Operating After Suspension as the result of a traffic stop in Franklin.

Trooper Cliff Peterson investigated a theft complaint in Hancock. It was reported that a construction trailer at a jobsite had been broken into and items were taken. The investigation continues.

Trooper Cliff Peterson received a criminal mischief complaint in Hancock. The investigation continues.

Trooper Greg Roy received a trespassing complaint in Lamoine. It was reported that two clammers had been trespassing. Trooper Roy spoke with one of the clammers and determined the complaint was unfounded.

Trooper Greg Roy received a criminal mischief complaint in Trenton. It was reported that the window of a guest’s vehicle at an Inn had been damaged sometime during the night. Investigation continues.
