Weekly Highlights-Media Version7/9/2012 This week Troop J responded to 198 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints: 7-1-12 Trooper Reid Bond handled an assault complaint in Milbridge. 7-2-12 Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a criminal mischief complaint in Blue Hill where a shed was broken into. Investigation continues. Trooper Chad Lindsey summonsed Micheal Phelps (38) in Calais for operating after suspension. Trooper Michael Southard handled a criminal mischief complaint in Sorrento where a lock was damaged on a residence in an attempted burglary. Investigation continues. 7-3-12 Trooper Jason Fowler conducted a traffic stop in Grand Lake Stream which led to him summonsing Melanie Marshall (20) of illegal possession of alcohol by a minor and the arrest of Patrick McGouldric (23) for violation of probation for consuming alcohol against his probation conditions. Trooper Cliff Peterson was on routine patrol in Brooklin when a GMC Yukon being driven by Jeremy Pratt accelerated and made a bad pass at an intersection. Pratt was stopped at the intersection of Reach Road and Naskeg Point Road, where a large group of people had gathered. Pratt was given field sobriety tests, which he passed. A male in the crowd, Ryan Leith, was being disorderly with his actions and also by making loud and unreasonable noises while Trooper Peterson was administering the tests to Pratt. Leith was given several warnings to stop or else he would be arrested. He did not stop and was subsequently arrested for Obstructing Government Administration. Pratt was issued a summons for driving to endanger and released. Trooper Tim McCadden, Trooper Jason Fowler, and Trooper Kim Sawyer helped escort the War Memorial truck to Calais. 7-4-12 Trooper Miles Carpenter and Trooper Jason Fowler responded to a fight complaint in Lubec where Richard Murray (64) was arrested for assault and obstructing the report of a crime. Trooper Cliff Peterson responded to a single vehicle rollover crash at Romer’s Corner on Route 3 in Trenton. The two male occupants had been coming from a bar in Bar Harbor. Both males were transported by County Ambulance to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth to be treated for minor injuries. The driver, James Smedberg, was issued a summons for Operating Under the Influence of alcohol – 1 prior and for Operating After Suspension. Trooper Reid Bond responded to a civil complaint in Trescott Township. Dorry Prior/ Lamprey (40) reported that she was keeping her firearms with her friend because a protection order currently in place prohibited her from having possession of them. Prior stated that she was no longer getting along with the friend and she was removing the firearms from the home and transporting them herself to another friend’s residence. Prior was arrested and charged with violating a protection from abuse order and disorderly conduct. Deputy Ryan Allen and Sergeant Richard Rolfe of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office assisted. Trooper Kim Sawyer responded to a shot’s fired complaint in Danforth and was unable to get anyone to answer the front door, so Trooper Kim Sawyer went to the back door and found a marijuana plant on the steps. Wade A. Frye (31) was summonsed for cultivating marijuana. He was shooting at a skunk. 7-5-12 Trooper Staci Carpenter handled a violation of protection order complaint in Machiasport where Jeremy Wilkinson (37) was arrested for violation of protection order. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department and the Maine Warden Service assisted. 7-6-12 Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a theft complaint in Blue Hill where a purse was reported stolen. Investigation continues. Trooper Miles Carpenter responded to a fight complaint in East Machias along with Sergeant Sean Hashey and Trooper Reid Bond. Trooper Carpenter arrested Melinda Guptill (28) for assault. Machias Police Department also assisted. Trooper Chad Lindsey assisted with escorting the Law Enforcement Motorcycle Ride from Calais to Grand Lake Stream. Trooper Michael Southard handled a neighborhood dispute complaint in Fletcher’s Landing where a local resident was chastised by a neighbor for having a dog loose in the neighborhood. Trooper Michael Southard handled a criminal mischief complaint in Franklin where damage was reported in a pit. Trooper Michael Southard handled a criminal mischief complaint in Aurora where a lock was damaged on a barn at a camp. Investigation continues. Trooper Cliff Peterson responded to a burglary in Trenton. The investigation continues. 7-7-12 Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a criminal mischief complaint in Tremont where some mailboxes were reported damaged. Investigation continues. Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to the Lamoine State Park for a report that a man was exposing himself to campers. Larry Heald (70) of Jay was summonsed for indecent conduct and given a trespass notice not to be at the Lamoine State Park. Trooper Chad Lindsey responded to a fight complaint in East Machias where Jimmy Gregory (34) was arrested for domestic violence related criminal mischief. Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi, Detective Elmer Farren, Trooper Miles Carpenter and the Maine Warden Service also responded. Trooper Michael Southard and Trooper Joshua D’Angelo responded to Amherst for a threatening complaint where it was reported that Paul Norris (53) was reported to have threatened to kill someone. Norris was arrested for criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi also responded. 7-8-12 Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a theft complaint in Trenton where a purse was reported stolen at a wedding reception the night before. Investigation continues. Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a harassment complaint in Trenton. Trooper Chad Lindsey summonsed Richard Ketchum (42) for a traffic infraction of operating after suspension in Whiting. Trooper Reid Bond arrested Richard Armistead (25) of North Carolina for Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol. The arrest was made as a result of a traffic stop on the Eastside Road in Columbia. |
