Weekly Highlights-Media Version7/2/2012 This week Troop J responded to 196 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints: 6-22-12 Trooper Kim Sawyer received a report in Talmadge that a garage was broken into and items were stolen. 6-24-12 Trooper Kim Sawyer responded to a large party/fight in Perry. Pleasant Point Police Department and Eastport Police Department responded prior to Trooper Kim Sawyer’s arrival and found that everyone was gone. Trooper Kim Sawyer met with Eastport & Pleasant Point Police Department to recover some property that was left behind. 6-25-12 Trooper Miles Carpenter handled a criminal mischief complaint in Perry where a mailbox was damaged. Investigation continues. Trooper Chad Lindsey responded to a serious injury crash on Route 9 in Township 26 around 0700 hours. Alvah Hawkins (75) of Wesley was operating his 2000 Ford Taurus eastbound on Route 9 when he lost control and crashed into an embankment on the opposite side of the road. EMS responded along with Life Flight which transported Hawkins to Eastern Maine Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries. The accident remains under investigation. Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi, Detective Elmer Farren, Trooper Miles Carpenter and Washington Sheriff’s Office assisted. 6-26-12 Trooper Andrew Foss conducted a well-being check in Milbridge at the request of a family member where the person was found to be okay. Trooper Michael Southard handled a late report assault complaint in Fletchers Landing. The initial complaint was found to have been already handled by Hancock Sheriff’s Office and the complainant was referred to the investigating officer. Trooper Kim Sawyer arrested Aaron Neddeau (18) of Princeton on a warrant after being notified by Baileyville Police Department. 6-27-12 Trooper Chris Smith responded to the Main Road in Dedham for a property damage crash. As a result of the investigation, Bret Cyr (47) of Anthony, FL and formally of Dedham, was arrested for OUI, and leaving the scene of a property damage crash. 6-28-12 Trooper Kim Sawyer responded to a burglary and theft in Princeton. Investigation continues. 6-29-12 Trooper Daniel Ryan conducted a well-being check in Blue Hill at the request of a family member. The person was found to be okay. Trooper Staci Carpenter responded to a crash in Perry where the operator Andrew Dana (53) was summonsed for operating under the influence of alcohol and operating without a license. Trooper Michael Southard handled a phone harassment complaint in Hancock. 6-30-12 Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi arrested Natasha Boada (19) for operating under the influence of alcohol in Addison. She and a passenger, Kelsey Harfoush (20) were also summonsed for possession of alcohol by a minor. Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi arrested Joshua Crowley (20) in Jonesboro for attaching false plates. He was also summonsed for possession of alcohol by a minor and processed for an administrative OUI. Trooper Michael Southard handled a theft complaint in Franklin where a gravestone was reported stolen. This item was located and was being repaired by the company. Trooper Michael Southard handled a theft of services complaint at a campground in Township 34. Investigation continues. 7-1-12 Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to Brooklin for a report of a crash where the vehicle had left the scene after hitting a pole. Jeffrey Durand (19) was summonsed for failure to report an accident by quickest means and leaving the scene of a PD accident. Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to Brooksville for a well-being check. The person was found to be okay at this time. Trooper Daniel Ryan summonsed Tobias Poole (26) in Blue Hill for operating after suspension. Trooper Miles Carpenter summonsed Jeremy Foss (25) in Machias for operating after suspension. Trooper Miles Carpenter handled an assault complaint in Perry. Trooper Daniel Ryan summonsed Benjamin Moore (20) in Brooksville for operating after suspension and violation of conditional release. |
