This week Troop J responded to 158 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:

5-28-2012

Trooper Chris Smith investigated an assault in Hancock. The complainant reported being assaulted by Foster Kane (46) of Bangor. Foster left the area prior to Trooper Smith’s arrival. 5-29-12 Trooper Greg Mitchell and Officers from Ellsworth Police Department located Foster Kane at a local motel in Ellsworth. Trooper Mitchell arrested Foster Kane as he attempted to flee from the room. Foster Kane was charged with assault and violating conditions of release.

Trooper Chris Smith investigated a shoplifting complaint from Dunbar’s Store in Sullivan. The complainant reported that they caught a female stealing butter from the store. Trooper Smith arrived and as a result of the investigation Amy Turner (32) of Ellsworth was charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

Trooper Reid Bond responded in East Machias for a reported burglary. The complainant reported that Jared Cline (18) entered the residence and there was a confrontation holding the complainant down so they could not call 911. Cline was located and arrested for criminal trespass, obstructing the report of a crime, and violating his conditions of release.

Trooper Reid Bond handled a theft from a vehicle complaint in Pembroke. The complainant reported that cash was stolen from the vehicle in a parking area during the day. The doors of the vehicle were locked; however, the windows were left down. Investigation continues on this case.

5-29-12

Trooper Greg Roy received a report of a young person in the middle of the road in Hancock who was believed to be intoxicated. Trooper Roy located Timothy Stanley (18) of Franklin and summonsed him for Illegal Possession of Liquor by a Minor.

Sergeant Alden Bustard arrested Tyler Harmon (23) of Dedham for Operating After Suspension as the result of a traffic stop in Brewer.

5-30-12

Trooper Miles Carpenter handled a theft complaint in Lubec where two vehicles were reported stolen from a residence. The following day Trooper Andrew Foss handled a report of a third vehicle being stolen. On June 2, 2012 Justin Jones (35) was arrested for felony theft.

5-31-2012

Trooper Chris Smith arrested Sewell Look (75) of Columbia Falls for operating under the influence as the result of a traffic stop in Columbia Falls. Deputy Sergeant Timothy Tabutt of Washington Sheriff’s Office assisted.

6-1-12

Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a found property complaint in Blue Hill where a man’s ring was located by a local resident. Investigation continues.

Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a harassment complaint in Blue Hill.

Trooper Daniel Ryan assisted with traffic control for the Blue Hill Parade.

Trooper Jason Fowler arrested Paul Kidder (42) of Brewer for Operating After Habitual Offender Revocation as the result of a traffic stop in Baileyville.

Trooper Chris Smith investigated a traffic complaint in Hancock. It was reported by both individuals that the other party was trying to run each other off of the road. Investigation continues.

Trooper Chris Smith investigated a criminal mischief incident at the Eastbrook Fire Department. Investigation continues.

Trooper Kim Sawyer summonsed Howie L. Sockabasin (36) of Indian Township for operating an unregistered ATV on a public way in Princeton.

Trooper Kim Sawyer summonsed Stanley J. Harnois (25) of Indian Township for operating an ATV on a public way in Princeton.

6-2-12

Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to a target practice harassing complaint in Deer Isle. The party was warned.

Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a criminal mischief complaint in Stonington where a vehicle was reported damaged. This was determined to be unfounded.

Trooper Miles Carpenter handled a harassment complaint in Perry. Investigation continues.

Trooper Michael Southard handled a theft of prescription medications in Franklin. Investigation continues.

Trooper Michael Southard handled a harassment complaint in Township 22. Investigation continues.

Trooper Chris Smith investigated a motorcycle crash on Route 182 Township 9. As a result James Freeman (31) of Cherryfield was arrested for operating under the influence and operating after suspension. James’ motorcycle was considered a total loss as a result of the crash. Trooper David Barnard assisted with the investigation.

Trooper Kim Sawyer summonsed Rachel A. Williams (43) of Indian Township, for Criminal Trespass after investigation of an incident that occurred on 5-27-12 in Princeton.

Trooper Greg Mitchell and Sergeant Tim Varney responded to the Tideway Market for a report of several people fighting in the parking lot. John Michael Boucar (24) of Sullivan and Pasquale Paganucci (36) of Sullivan were summonsed for Disorderly Conduct. Boucar was also summonsed for Criminal Mischief after he kicked the door of a vehicle.
