Weekly Highlights-Media Version5/29/2012 This week Troop J responded to 176 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints: 5-21-12 Trooper Chad Lindsey and Trooper Andrew Foss responded to a suspicious complaint in Lubec where some prescriptions drugs were found tampered with. Tara Kelley (37) was summonsed for Theft of Drugs. Trooper Greg Roy summonsed Jeb Braley (19) of Hudson, for Operating an Unregistered Motor vehicle as a result of a traffic stop on Route 1A in Dedham. Braley was also summonsed for insurance and seatbelt violations. Trooper Greg Roy arrested Brian Hamm (26) of Glenburn, for two active arrest warrants for Failure to Pay Fines and Fees. 5-22-12 Trooper Kim Sawyer received a complaint at Grand Lake Stream. Items had been stolen out of the complainant’s trunk. Investigation continues. Trooper Kim Sawyer received a complaint at Grand Lake Stream that some of the camp renters had items stolen from their unlocked cars while they were parked at one of the parking areas within the last couple of days. Investigation continues. 05-23-12 Trooper Cliff Peterson received a report of a car being operated erratically on Route 9. The vehicle was located at the Amherst General Store. The owner of the car, Jennifer Beede (32) of Aurora, was placed under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Drugs and transported to the Hancock County Jail. Deputy Larry Fickett concluded Beede was under the influence of narcotics and depressants. Xanax was located in Beede’s purse that is not prescribed to her. Trooper Jason Fowler responded to the US Customs port of entry in Calais to assist CBP with a commercial driver. As a result of the investigation, Ralph Ledrew (71) of Newfoundland, Canada was summonsed for a Commercial Vehicle Rule Violation – Operate with Intoxicating Beverage. Ledrew was also placed out of service for 24 hours. 5-24-12 Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi assisted Bangor Hydro with a power shut-off in Jonesboro. Trooper Michael Southard handled a theft complaint in Franklin where a propane tank was reported stolen. Investigation continues. Trooper Chris Smith summonsed Samuel Wallace (29) of Milbridge for operating without a motorcycle license in Milbridge. Trooper Chris Smith summonsed John Cole (53) of Gouldsboro for attaching false plates in Steuben. Trooper Greg Roy received a criminal mischief complaint from the Trenton Market Place reporting someone had vandalized one of their doors by writing on it with a marker. Investigation continues. Trooper Greg Roy received a telephone harassment complaint in Orland. Both parties were found at fault and both were warned for telephone harassment. 5-25-12 Trooper Andrew Foss arrested Joe Marzoll (33) in Wesley for having an active warrant for his arrest. Trooper Chad Lindsey arrested Kerry Marino (26) in Princeton for operating after suspension, suspended registration and violation of conditional release. Trooper Staci Carpenter received a call from the Whiting Store reporting a vehicle drove off without paying for the gas. Investigation continues. 5-26-2012 Trooper Reid Bond and Sergeant Brian Harris responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle in Cutler. Joshua Smith (33) was located near a brook a short distance from his vehicle. Smith was found to have been fishing along with another male subject during a closed time period and without licenses. This case was referred to local Marine Patrol Officers who then re-located Smith and summonsed him for the violations. 5-27-12 Trooper Daniel Ryan summonsed Daniel Brown (44) in Blue Hill for operating after suspension. Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to a crash in Orland where the operator, Kenneth Grant (47) was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol. Trooper Michael Southard assisted. Trooper Chris Smith attempted to stop a green Ford pickup truck for erratic operation on Route 1 in Sullivan. After a 2 mile pursuit on Route 1, Taunton Drive and onto the Quarry Road in Sullivan Trooper Smith terminated the pursuit. The Ford truck was later found abandoned on an ATV trail. Marine Patrol Sergeant Troy Dow, Trooper Greg Mitchell and Trooper David Barnard searched the area but did not locate the driver or passenger. Trooper Smith later located and arrested Jeremy Kane (24) of Hancock for eluding an officer, operating after suspension, and exceeding the speed limit by 30mph or more. Trooper Chris Smith responded to a disorderly complaint in Sullivan. Trooper David Barnard and Trooper Greg Mitchell assisted. Sergeant Tim Varney summonsed Joseph Herbert (49) of Bangor for Possession of Marijuana and Littering after he threw out a bag of marijuana while he was being stopped for speeding on Route 9 in Amherst. |
