Weekly Highlights - Media Version3/19/2012 03-11-12 Trooper Greg Mitchell responded to Orland for a residential burglary complaint. The complainant reported cash removed from his unlocked residence. Trooper Greg Mitchell received a motor vehicle theft complaint in Sullivan. The complainant discovered her passenger car was missing from her driveway. The car was recovered a short distance down the road. The keys had been left inside the car. 03-12-12 Sgt. Tim Varney received a traffic complaint of a vehicle all over the road on Rt9 in Twp. 28. The vehicle came to rest against a guardrail. As a result, Sgt. Varney arrested Beth Grant, 45, of Columbia for OUI-Drugs. She was also in possession of 5 oz. of processed marijuana and several prescription medications. Officer John Wardwell from MDI PD did a DRE evaluation on her. Grant was charged with OUI-Drugs, Possession of Marijuana, Class E and Possession of a Schedule W Drug, class E. Trooper Christopher Smith also assisted. Sergeant Alden Bustard arrested Harold Pottle, 36, of Lamoine for Operating After Suspension as the result of a traffic stop in Sullivan. Pottle was also summonsed for Possession of a Useable Amount of Marijuana. Sergeant Alden Bustard arrested Ricky Skillings, 34, at his residence in Sullivan on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Ellsworth District Court for unpaid fines. 03-15-12 Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a theft complaint in Penobscot where medication was reported stolen from a purse. Investigation continues. Trooper Michael Southard arrested Billy Grindle, 39, of Bucksport for criminal speed in Dedham. 88 in a 55. Sgt. Varney summonsed Calvin James, 34 of Alexander for Operating With an Expired License >90 days on Rt. 1 in Baring. 03-16-12 Trooper Miles Carpenter responded to Lubec to assist with an intoxicated male. He arrested Richard Eaton, 79, for violation of conditional release for consuming alcohol. Trooper Michael Southard handled a burglary complaint in Orland where a seasonal residence was broken into. Cash and jewelry were reported stolen. Investigation continues. Trooper Jason Fowler summonsed Szold Csuku, 37, of Dieppe, NB for a Commercial Vehicle Rule Violation as the result of a traffic stop in Wesley. 03-17-12 Sergeant Alden Bustard arrested Sherri Butler, 34, at her residence in Hancock on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Ellsworth District Court for unpaid fines. Sergeant Alden Bustard summonsed Preston Carney, 23, of Hancock for Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle as the result of a traffic stop in Hancock. Trooper Jason Fowler summonsed Eric Preston, 24, of Lincoln for Possession of a Useable Amount of Marijuana as the result of a traffic stop in Danforth. Trooper Greg Roy summonsed Zachary Jordan, 24, of Ellsworth for Possession of a Useable Amount of Marijuana and Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle as the result of a traffic stop in Franklin. Trooper Greg Mitchell responded to the Sullivan Bridge for a report of a pedestrian walking with an assault rifle. Trooper Mitchell spoke to the subject who had been riding his bicycle with an AK-47 style assault rifle slung across his back. The weapon was found to be unloaded and he was traveling to the quarry to target practice. No enforcement action was taken as no violation was found. Marine Patrol assisted. Sgt. Varney summonsed Mandi Ratte, 31 of Machias for Operating Without a Valid License on Rt 9 in Aurora. 03-18-12 Trooper Greg Roy investigated a burglary complaint in Lamoine. The residence had been broken into during the night and prescription medication, laptop computers and approximately six to seven thousand dollars worth of jewelry was taken. The investigation continues. Trooper Greg Roy investigated a camp burglary on Spectacle Pond in Osborn. The complaint reported that the camp had been broken into and copper wiring had been taken. The investigation continues. Trooper Jason Fowler received a complaint from a subject in Robbinston reported that he had found a used hypodermic needle in a turnaround near his residence. Trooper Fowler had received similar information approximately a month earlier. Trooper Fowler also received information that a female was involved and she was believed to operating a red colored car. Trooper Fowler located the operator who was identified as being Jamie Stuart, 24, of Eastport and placed her under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Drugs. Stuart was also charged with Illegal Possession of a Hypodermic Apparatus and Possession of a Useable Amount of Marijuana. Pleasant Point PD and Eastport PD assisted at the scene. Trooper Greg Roy arrested Frank Chick, 57, of Amherst for OUI as the result of a traffic stop in Amherst. Chick was transported to the Hancock County jail where an intoxilyzer test was administered. A passenger in Chick’s vehicle, Stephen Melanson (40) also of Amherst was arrested for Violation of Conditions of Release. |
