Credit Card Scam-Northern Penobscot County

The State Police is investigating a scam in Northern Penobscot County in which victims are notified via phone that they have won a $400 gift card from Wal-Mart, and the victim is then asked for a credit or debit card number to process a $1.95 service fee and the gift card will then be sent to them. This is a scam and the State Police are reminding people to be very guarded about releasing any personal financial information.
