Adam Lee Appointed to Energy & Carbon Savings Trust

AUGUSTA, Maine – Today Sharon M. Reishus, Chairman of the Maine Public Utilities Commission announced the appointment of respected Maine businessman, Adam Lee, to the board of the Energy and Carbon Savings Trust. The Trust is charged with administering funds produced by the auction of “carbon allowances” under the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) for energy efficiency projects. Since its inception in September 2008, RGGI proceeds total approximately $13.5 million. “The Commission commends Mr. Lee for taking on this extraordinary public service,” said Chairman Reishus. “RGGI has great potential to help solve the economic and environmental challenges posed by energy production. The prudent administration of the Trust will bring credibility to the process and benefits to all Maine ratepayers.”

Adam Lee has been with Lee Auto Mall for 22 years, serving as president since 1997. A graduate of Vassar College, he is the current chair of the Efficiency Maine Trust and has received environmental awards from the Natural Resources Council of Maine and the Maine League of Conservation Voters.


The Maine Public Utilities Commission regulates electric, telephone, water and gas utilities to ensure that Maine citizens have access to safe and reliable utility service at rates that are just and reasonable for all ratepayers.
