Annual Agency Business Meetings
By Eric Stout, OIT The Office of Information Technology (OIT) has begun a series of annual business meetings with senior management from the various agencies in Maine state government. While this is a follow-up to the “listening tour” conducted in 2008, the specific purpose of these meetings is to continue the dialog of last year as well as to acquaint agencies with important improvements in IT services. Specifically covered at the meetings are:
As of the end of September, twelve (12) meetings have been held, with about a dozen more planned for the remainder of the fall. The OIT team participating in the meetings consists of:
The meetings have been well received and considered by all parties to be productive. Dialog has been open and free-flowing. Criticism, where warranted, has been constructive and praise, when deserved, has been conveyed. Some agency-specific issues are being addressed on the spot or quickly after the meeting. Other issues are being investigated for details. All issues are cataloged in order to determine common themes and trends and action items are being tracked.
