Online Duplicate Vehicle Registration

The Bureau of Motor Vehicles is pleased to offer an online duplicate vehicle registration request service. This new service allows businesses and individuals who hold a valid Maine vehicle registration to order a duplicate copy of their registration online with a credit card. This service was developed in partnership with InforME and can be found at: http://www.maine.gov/online/bmv/drr .

The online service will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and brings convenience to the public by allowing them to order a duplicate registration at any time, without visiting their local branch or municipal office. A duplicate registration costs $2 and payment may be made by Visa or MasterCard using the secure Maine.gov payment engine. Registrations will be mailed by the BMV.

The duplicate registration request service will assist the Bureau of Motor Vehicles with reducing their manual processes. By doing so, the BMV will quickly see a reduction in paper forms and manual data entry, leading to additional benefits through time-savings. The Bureau of Motor Vehicles processes approximately 30,000 duplicate registrations each year.
