Municipal Official Lookup Application

Various state agencies need current information on municipal offices, officials, and boards. The Maine Municipal Association (MMA) maintains this information as part of their operational requirements. In the past, agencies would need to contact MMA individually to obtain printed publications containing this information. Since elected and appointed officials change over time, agencies needed to ensure they had the latest MMA publications or they would have out-of-date information.

A new Intranet web application is now in place as an alternative to purchasing printed publications. The application was developed by the OIT ADAM Group and utilizes an Oracle database. It allows users to perform searches by county, town, office, name, and zip code with the option of saving results to a spreadsheet. Mailing labels can also be generated. The application utilizes a data extract provided by MMA and is currently scheduled to be updated twice a year. As part of the agreement with MMA, the use of this data is limited to Maine State government use only.
