Maine.gov Media Gallery

InforME is excited to announce the launch of the Maine.gov Media Gallery. This project was a key component in fulfilling a contract requirement pertaining to InforME's renewed state contract set forth in 2008. The media gallery is the central location within the Maine.gov portal where audio and video files will be stored and made available for viewing by the public. The media gallery can be found at: http://media.maine.gov .

The Maine.gov Media Gallery provides convenience for the public and promotes the State's multimedia efforts. By providing features such as agency media channels, searching and sorting by media type, the media gallery will continue to attract visitors to the Maine.gov portal as well as agency web sites. The media gallery also facilitates compliance with state standards and policies, such as file formats and accessibility for the disabled.

Multimedia content can be uploaded to the media gallery and managed by authorized web coordinators and webmasters. InforME will provide a baseline of free hosting of pre-recorded media, in combination with fee hosting for higher resource hosting needs. The Maine.gov Media Gallery service also provides captioning and encoding services. These services are provided to aid agencies in meeting state and federal mandated ADA Accessibility requirements.
