Moose Permit Lottery

The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (IF&W) has launched an enhanced Moose Permit Lottery Application site. This site allows any Maine resident, non-resident or Canadian resident to complete an entry into the Maine Annual Moose Permit Lottery 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Payment for chances can be made by Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit and debit cards. This service was developed in partnership with InforME and can be accessed at https://www.maine.gov/online/moose

The upgraded site offers many new features to users including the ability of the system to pre-fill all details (except payment) for those users who applied to the lottery in the previous year. In addition to the auto-complete feature, the system also provides the ability for a user to edit their submitted application at any point until the May 15 deadline. The upgraded site conforms to the standards of the Maine.gov online service template which offers users a streamlined and user-friendly online transaction.

The enhanced site launched on January 6, 2009 and allows users to complete an entry into the 2009 Season Lottery. Because all applications must be submitted using the online service, the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife has been able to extend the application deadline an additional six weeks to May 15.
