Holiday News Article

Earlier this year, Office of Information Technology customers expressed their desire for a current, Maine State Government Technology News Service. Thus, starting in April, a team consisting of team members Peter Bossie, David Maxwell, Mary Cloutier and Judy Beloff, led by Associate CIO Kathy Record, has been publishing 5-6 articles twice a month.

The articles that have received the most positive feedback described the implementation of technologies news to Maine State Government; and we are always on the lookout for new topics and authors. We really appreciate the efforts expended by authors who took the time to contribute to our publication this year. Since April, CIO Dick Thompson has personally authored a couple of articles, and nearly all of the OIT Leadership Team members have contributed articles on a variety of topics.

If you would like to submit an article to be considered for publication or an article on a particular topic, please send it to oit-newsletter@maine.gov by the 10th or the 20th of any month.

Readers seem to appreciate this e-publication, as expressed in the following comment:

"It is nice to hear positive things about state employees in general, especially when it is in recognition of the IT staff that tend to hear more of what fails rather than what helped to serve our various customers (Maine Taxpayers, State Agencies and their employees that serve them). Hopefully this will set the trend for customer support and recognition of state employees that are often overlooked unless problems are afoot."

Due to the upcoming holidays, we plan to not publish a newsletter for January 1, 2007 but will resume publishing on January 16, 2007 (the 15th is the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday).

Best wishes for safe and happy holidays!
