Governor Paul LePage Unveils Official Website
By, Lesley McCaw, InforME
Newly elected Maine Governor Paul R. LePage launched his official website ( http://www.maine.gov/governor ) during his January 5, 2011 inauguration speech from the states capital in Augusta.
The home page of the gubernatorial website features many areas of citizen interest to include: a public calendar for Red Tape Audit meeting dates; a link to the Red Tape Audit initiative page; and the most recent press releases issued by the Governor’s Office.
The site also offers citizens the ability to subscribe to RSS feeds for timely notification as new items are added to the site, for notification of recent executive orders, speeches, and radio addresses.
The overall goal of the website is to make the Governor and Maine state government more accessible to the public. Design elements such as the Citizen Services tab, which includes contact information for the Governor’s Office, as well as a form to submit your own ideas and suggestions, help to achieve this goal.
Not only is the site very user friendly, but it also meets state web standards including accessibility. Having the site built by InforME in the newest version of the State of Maine website template ensures compliance and offers an easy to navigate mobile version of the site that displays well on smart phones.
Please visit the site to learn more about Governor LePage, the first family, the administration and more. Citizens and visitors can look for the site to offer additional information and services as it continues to advance and evolve with the new administration.
