06. What attachments should I include with Form 706ME-EZ?

When filing Form 706ME-EZ, you must attach documentation showing valuation of property, preferably an appraisal (see question #10 for alternatives), and a completed worksheet for line 3 to the form. You should enclose a completed Certificate of Discharge of Estate Tax Lien with the completed return.

Following is a list of items that are not required to be attached, but are very helpful and may expedite processing of the return: the decedent’s will or trust documents, copies of bank statements or brokerage accounts showing balance as of the date of death, a detailed list of miscellaneous property and documentation of value of the miscellaneous property, all gift tax returns filed by decedent, and a copy of the death certificate.
