The former Berwick High School was listed in the National Register of Historic Places the local level of significance in the areas of Architecture and Education. The period of significance, 1927/1928 represents the building’s construction date. The property is significant for its associations with the education of Berwick’s children, providing public high school education to the community for over 80 years. In addition, the school represents early 20th century changes in educational practices resulting from legislated reforms to improve sanitary conditions, update curriculum, and operate schools more cost effectively.
