Commissioner Harvey, a native of Greenville and Millinocket resident, is a graduate of the University of Maine with a B.S. in Forest Utilization and an M.S. in Forest Economics. He recently retired from Great Northern Paper Company after spending 31 years with the company. Commissioner Harvey served as the Director of Forest Management at Great Northern for seven years, and as the Woodlands Manager for 3 years. He also managed pulp and paper manufacturing and operations support functions. Commissioner Harvey was an officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the United States and Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. Commissioner Harvey has been involved with LURC issues since the inception of the Commission in 1971. He joined the Land Use Regulation Commission in November 2000, and was elected to serve as chair in March of 2003.
