Millinocket is a beautiful town set in the shadow of Mount Katahdin, Maine's largest mountain. It also serves as the main gateway to Baxter State Park. It also offers excellent chances for photographers to get superb pictures of animals in the north Maine woods.
Millinocket is only 12 miles from Interstate 95, just over 1 hour from the Canadian border, 1 hour from Bangor, and 2 hours from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
