Transportation Routing Software

INFORMATIONAL LETTER: 68
POLICY CODE: EEAC

TO:                  Superintendents of Schools, Business Managers and Transportation Supervisors
FROM:            Susan A. Gendron, Commissioner of Education
DATE:             January 26, 2010
SUBJECT:       Transportation Routing Software

The Department of Education will be completing the certification process for the Transportation Routing Software very soon. Training on the software will begin on or about February 1, 2010. The training will be done online and will require the user to be available two to four hours per week for approximately ten weeks. It is important that any school unit that wants to participate understands the time commitment involved. If this schedule does not work for you there will be other trainings held throughout the year.

There will be no up front cost or ongoing costs to the school unit to use this software; however, you will need to have personnel who are available to be trained both initially and on an ongoing basis as updates occur. All training will be done online and will not involve travel on the employee’s part.

The trainings, to be effective, will be limited in size so if there is not room in session one you will be scheduled for a future session.

If you are interested in becoming a part of this training please email Rick Soules at
