RE: School Construction Update:  [1] Application for an Integrated, Consolidated 9-16 Educational Facility, and [2] New Construction/Renovation Application for the Major Capital Improvement Program for Rating Cycle 2010-2011.

The Application for an Integrated, Consolidated 9-16 Educational Facility is scheduled to be available on Thursday, October 15, 2009, on the Department of Education website:
http://www.maine.gov/education/const/mcip.htm   Applications for the Integrated, Consolidated 9-16 Educational Facility will be accepted through March 15, 2010.  Questions regarding this application must be submitted in writing to Jim Rier at Jim.Rier@Maine.Gov or by mail to Jim Rier, Director of Finance and Operations, Department of Education, 23 State House Station, Augusta, ME  04333-0023.

The New Construction/Renovation Application for the Major Capital Improvement Program Rating Cycle 2010-2011 will be available by November 15, 2009, on the Department of Education website:  http://www.maine.gov/education/const/mcip.htm .  Applications for Major Capital Improvement Projects will be accepted through June 15, 2010.

There will be an informational session on the application and rating process for the New Construction/Renovation Application for the Major Capital Improvement Program Rating Cycle 2010-2011 at the Annual Superintendents Fall Conference; 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at the Augusta Civic Center.  I strongly encourage any school unit that is considering submitting an application to the Major Capital Improvement Program to attend.
