The Department of Education has prepared a summary of major laws related to education enacted by the First Regular Session of the 124th Maine Legislature. We hope this information is helpful to you as you plan for the 2009-2010 school year.

The bills are listed in numerical order by LD number. The Summary includes the bill chapter number, a summary of the provisions of the bill, the effective date of and action required by the bill, and the primary contact person in the Department and / or the State Board of Education.
