Subject: Year-End Pupil Transportation Reports – Due by July 31, 2009

The FY 2009 year-end Pupil Transportation Reports are provided to all school administrative units in electronic format for on-line submission. The reports follow the protocol for all MEDMS reports. The person completing the reports must have MEDMS permission as Transportation Director/Administrator in order to access the reports through the MEDMS system.
Reports are available now through the MEDMS sign-in page at. https://www.medms.maine.gov/MEDMS/Medms_Welcome.aspx
Remember, you are reporting for period ending June 30, 2009. Any reorganization plans will not affect this report.
Once again we have made an Instruction Manual available to assist you in completing these reports. We strongly recommend that you print and refer to the Instruction Manual while completing your 2009 reports. You can find the link to the MEDMS sign-in page and a link to the Instruction Manual at http://www.maine.gov/education/forms/transportation.htm We have also put a link to the Instruction Manual at the top of each of the reporting forms.

There are two reports required. The first is the Vehicle Inventory Report (EF-T-24) which includes data about all motor vehicles used for transporting students including school buses and non-school bus passenger vehicles. It also includes information about any contractors used to provide pupil transportation vehicles and service. The second is the Safety and Training Report (EF-T-21) which includes data about school bus drivers, students transported, driver and student transportation-related training, and vehicle crashes, driver and passenger injuries and fatalities.

In accordance with 20-A MRSA §6801-A, subsidy checks will be withheld starting with the September 2009 check if the Pupil Transportation reports for your school unit(s) have not been received by the subsidy pay date. To confirm that your completed reports have been received by the Department, you can go to: http://www.maine.gov/education/forms/forms.htm
