RE: Continuous Improvement and Monitoring Program Update (CIMP)

We invite your participation in a conference call to review the Maine Department of Education’s Office of Special Services Improvement/Corrective Action Plan (ICAP) of the Continuing Improvement Monitoring Program (CIMP).

The on-line submission of your SAU’s ICAP is due May 15, 2009 from ALL School Administrative Units (SAUs). The ICAP is based on the determination levels of the targeted IDEA Part B Indicators found on the SAU Profile.

On the conference call, the technical assistance provider RMC Research Corporation will:

Walk you through the Guidelines for Completion of your ICAP found at http://www.maine.gov/education/speced/spp/sppta.html#allindicators
Provide helpful tips ensuring that your SAU’s plan is realistic and acceptable;
Help you access the on-line ICAP entry website; and
Answer your questions.

Call participants might include:

SAU Special Education Director,
SAU data manager,
Evaluation personnel,
Principal(s) of schools where special education improvement strategies are needed,
School-based special education personnel.

There are three opportunities to participate in a conference call.
All conference calls are scheduled to be held between 3:30 – 5:00 pm on:
Tuesday, May 5, 2009
Wednesday, May 6, 2009
Thursday, May 7, 2009

Follow these three steps to register for a call time:

Email Wendy Russell at russellw@rmcarl.com .
Indicate in your e-mail your first and second call date preferences.
Provide the names, phone numbers and e-mails of call participants in the e-mail.
