RE: School Unit Responsibilities Regarding Homeless Children and Youth

The enclosed packet of information was developed to help local school administrative units provide access and continuity of educational services for children and youth experiencing homelessness, under the stipulations of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.

Previously, in Informational Letter #11 (September 8, 2008) you received the dates and locations of training for designated local homeless liaisons. This training provides the units with necessary knowledge of the federal requirements and is an opportunity to get the training manual of resources.
