The Office of Integrated Access and Support is responsible for determining eligibility for a number of programs, including MaineCare, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Food Stamps and administering programs including Child Support.
Job Duties
This is professional services work of a supervisory nature in planning, directing, and coordinating the delivery of all Additional Support for People In Retraining and Employment (ASPIRE) programs within a region. Work includes establishing regional goals and service plans; reviewing and monitoring cases, service delivery, placements, and assessments; developing working relations with community agencies and employers; contracting with service providers; and managing a regional budget. Work is performed under limited supervision.
TYPICAL DUTIES in this job classification include:
… Directs, evaluates, trains, and oversees regional office staff.
… Monitors and reviews client caseloads and records client progress.
… Reviews and evaluates program services and resources, and sets program goals.
… Reviews and oversees staff case management and contract negotiation activities.
… Develops contacts with community resources, departmental officials, public/private agencies, and civic organizations.
… Analyzes and revises regional staffing patterns, budgets, and other available resources.
… Manages regional budget.
Requirements
In order to qualify, you must have eight (8) years of education and/or professional level experience in employment counseling, employment training, and/or social work. The background of well-qualified candidates will demonstrate expertise in the following areas:
1. Knowledge and experience with developing employment and training resources.
2. Knowledge and experience with developing relationships with community resources.
3. Experience in a leadership position where you were responsible to manage employees/volunteers to reach a common goal.
4. Experience working to meet the needs of low-income families.
