The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is driven by its vision of Maine people living safe, healthy and productive lives. Its goal is to assist the people of Maine in meeting their own needs, as well as the developmental, health and safety needs of their children. The Office for Family Independence currently has a vacancy in Lewiston.
This is supervisory responsibility in overseeing day-to-day operations of a Regional Family Independence Unit and its assigned staff. Responsibilities include monitoring family independence services, interviewing and selecting staff, determining and implementing corrective action plans for individuals; assigning and adjusting workloads and staffing patterns.
To qualify, you must have a Bachelors Degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Work, one of the social sciences, or a related field AND two (2) years experience in social services work providing direct assistance to groups or individuals or deciding client eligibility for financial assistance. Equivalent related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Supplemental questions are to be addressed and included within the application.

PERFORMANCE AREA #4: Please describe past experiences that demonstrate your ability to manage and motivate employees.
