Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center located in Bangor, Maine, is one of two state psychiatric hospitals under the Maine State Department of Health and Human Services. DDPC is a 64 bed psychiatric hospital serving two-thirds of the State's geographic area that provides services for people with severe mental illness.
Job Duties
DDPC is seeking Hospital Nurse II's to provide professional nursing work involving the care and treatment of clients who are mentally, emotionally or physically ill. Responsibilities include overseeing and providing medical and/or psychiatric nursing care in a hospital facility. Supervision may be exercised over hospital paraprofessional personnel and/or other assigned personnel as a group leader. Work is performed under limited supervision. Must have the ability to work mandatory overtime. Positions available on all shifts, some eight and some twelve hour shifts.
Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field-or- graduation from an accredited school of nursing plus one (1) year of professional experience.
Licensing Requirement: A license as a Registered Nurse as issued by the Maine State Board of Nursing.
Only post-secondary degrees from a College or University whose accreditation has been granted from a nationally recognized accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education will satisfy educational requirements. Information can be obtained at
