The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHS) Office is responsible for providing leadership and active partnership in Maine's comprehensive system of support to communities and individuals with substance use and mental health condition across the prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery system and across the lifespan.
Job Duties
As Quality Services Manager, you will directly manage and oversee, operate, evaluate and support administrative functions of Data Quality Management for the Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services. You will oversee and supervise the quality services team, policy development, contract oversight, training and technical assistance for mental health and additions treatment providers. You will also be responsible for the administration of the data portion of the federal Block Grant and work under the direction of the Associate Director of Data, Quality Management and Resource Development and Director of SAMHS.
Requirements
To qualify your background must include a Bachelors Degree and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in social service, mental health, substance abuse treatment or prevention programs. At least three (3) years of the required experience must be in a supervisory and/or administrative capacity. Additional year of professional work experience may be substituted for education requirements on a year-for-year basis. The background of well-qualified candidates will demonstrate the following competencies:
1. Exceptional leadership skills demonstrated through prior experience successfully managing programs and staff. Please be specific in describing any programs you have managed and the number and job titles of your direct/indirect reports.
2. A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with state/federal officials and stakeholder groups.
3. A proven ability to identify, analyze and report on key metrics that measure the success of social service programs and to identify and formulate desirable program enhancements.
4. Exceptional analytical skills including experience in policy development and contract oversight.
