Law Would Protect Public from Dangerous Dogs

Augusta—State Senator John Nutting, D-Androscoggin County, Friday, will present a bill to the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee, which would require a dog owner convicted of owning a dangerous dog to confine the animal in a secure enclosure.
The bill also allows the court to prohibit a person convicted of violating a court order from possessing or keeping a dog.
