AUGUSTA – Governor John E. Baldacci was saddened to learn of the passing of a member of the Maine National Guard, Sgt. Dean Rouse of Brownville Junction. Sgt. Rouse died Thursday. He had been deployed to Iraq with Detachment 1, 169th Military Police Company in 2007. Sgt. Rouse had been serving with the 488th Military Police Company at the time of his death.
Sgt. Rouse had been a resident of Brownville, and his memorial service will be held on Tuesday in Milo.
In remembrance and honor of Sergeant Dean Rouse, Governor John E. Baldacci has directed that the United States flag and the State of Maine flag be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, in the towns of Milo and Brownville Junction.
