AUGUSTA, ME – Kevin Kendall, M.D., was granted a probationary license to practice medicine by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine in a Consent Agreement signed February 12, 2013. Dr. Kendall, who has been licensed since 1997, agreed to a voluntary suspension on August 22, 2012. The voluntary suspension was based on information that Dr. Kendall had to be removed from his shift due to concerns that he appeared to be impaired. Dr. Kendall worked in Bridgton.
The Board received information in August 2012 that Dr. Kendall had been removed from his shift in the Emergency Department due to erratic behavior and that, on his way home, he was arrested for Operating Under the Influence. Dr. Kendall had previously been disciplined for illegally obtaining and using Stadol in 1998.Dr. Kendall must enroll in and successfully participate in substance abuse treatment and monitoring. In addition, Dr. Kendall must have a Board approved Physician Monitor who will observe him, work only day shifts and work no more than twenty-seven hours a week.
All Board disciplinary actions are reported to the National Practitioner Data Bank, the Health Integrity and Protection Data Bank, and the Federation of State Medical Boards Action Data Bank. These reports are regularly reviewed by every state licensing board in the country.
