Fire Marshal's Office to Sponsor First Responders Anti-Terrorism Training

The Office of the State Fire Marshal will sponsor:
Anti-Terrorism Training for First Responders
Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings/Prevention and Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents
The course will be presented by New Mexico Tech University, October 10 at the Office of State Fire Marshal, 45 Commerce Drive, Suite 1, in Augusta. Registration will begin at 7:30, and the training will run from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
There is no charge for the course or materials. However, reimbursement for travel, lodging, and meals will not be provided.
The course provides technical operations and awareness training for firefighters, law enforcement, and other personnel who have a significant responsibility for providing a response to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD)incidents involving explosives or incendiary materials.
Classroom topics include:
- Understanding the terrorist threat
- Improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
- Safety issues
- Departmental or agency policies to ensure compliance with local requirements
