Augusta, ME - Maine Secretary of State Charles E. Summers, Jr., issued the following statement today regarding Senator Snowe’s decision to not seek re-election to the U.S. Senate.
“I am deeply saddened to learn of Senator Snowe’s decision to not seek re-election to the US Senate. I have known her for many years and she is the epitome of public service. Her dedication to Maine and her people is legendary and second to none. Our State and Nation are better for her service. I wish her and Governor McKernan the very best.”
